Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward fight to be shown live on Sky Sports on November 19
THE light-heavyweight bout will take place at Las Vegas where both fighters put their unbeaten record on the line
BOXING's most anticipated fight of the year between light-heavyweight rivals Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward will be shown live and exclusive on Sky Sports on November 19.
The two unbeaten boxers take centre stage at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on November 19 with the IBF, WBA Super and WBO world titles up for grabs.
Rarely do we see the two greatest boxers in their weight class meet in the centre of the ring, and unlike Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao who took six years to negotiate a fight, this took less than ten months, and both are in the prime of their career.
This will be Ward's (30-0-KO15) first world championship fight in this division, having previously been king of the super-middleweights, where he held the WBA Super, WBC and the Ring Magazine titles.
Kovalev - the hard-hitting Russian knows as 'Krusher', has demolished 26 of his 30 opponents inside 12 rounds, including Britain's own Nathan Cleverley who he destroyed in four brutal rounds to rip away the Welshman's WBO belt back in Cardiff in 2013.

He has since consolidated his position as being the divisions No 1, earning wins against Bernard Hopkins, Jean Pascal twice and most recently Isaac Chilemba. Adding to that, Ring Magazine have named him as their second best pound-for-pound boxer.
This will be Andre 'Son of God' Ward's third fight in 2016, having previously been notoriously inactive, fighting just five times in four years.
In that time however, he's came up against two Brits, Carl Froch who he outpointed back in 2011 in a unification clash, and a comeback fight in 2015 against Liverpudlian Paul Smith who he knocked out in the 9th.
Styles make fights, so it will be interesting to see who comes out on top with both boxers having a completely different set of skills in their arsenal.
Kovalev, a pulverising puncher and knockout specialist has been blowing away all competition, but how will he fare against the slick Ward, a master of defence and a tactical genius?
With rumours surrounding the Russian's camp that he was knocked down in sparring by Middleweight supremo Gennady Golovkin, the American can certainly take confidence that Kovalev's guard can be penetrable.
British fight fans can count themselves lucky that it is not on a PPV service, as it is in America on HBO, but one thing you can guarantee is that someone's 'o' has got to go.
