Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward fight to be shown live on Sky Sports on November 19
THE light-heavyweight bout will take place at Las Vegas where both fighters put their unbeaten record on the line
BOXING's most anticipated fight of the year between light-heavyweight rivals Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward will be shown live and exclusive on Sky Sports on November 19.
The two unbeaten boxers take centre stage at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on November 19 with the IBF, WBA Super and WBO world titles up for grabs.
Rarely do we see the two greatest boxers in their weight class meet in the centre of the ring, and unlike Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao who took six years to negotiate a fight, this took less than ten months, and both are in the prime of their career.
This will be Ward's (30-0-KO15) first world championship fight in this division, having previously been king of the super-middleweights, where he held the WBA Super, WBC and the Ring Magazine titles.
Kovalev - the hard-hitting Russian knows as 'Krusher', has demolished 26 of his 30 opponents inside 12 rounds, including Britain's own Nathan Cleverley who he destroyed in four brutal rounds to rip away the Welshman's WBO belt back in Cardiff in 2013.
He has since consolidated his position as being the divisions No 1, earning wins against Bernard Hopkins, Jean Pascal twice and most recently Isaac Chilemba. Adding to that, Ring Magazine have named him as their second best pound-for-pound boxer.
