The attacking midfielder is so sure of the Championship outfit's chances that he would "bet" on them returning to the Prem.

The Portuguese ace is confident because of the team's quality and the impressive work manager Steve Cooper has put together.

Forest are currently fifth in the Championship table with two games in hand.

Carvalho told SunSport: “This season, if I can bet for a team to be promoted I would bet on Nottingham Forest for sure because I know the quality is there.

“I know how good the coach is as well because I like the way he works, he works every day to improve the team.

“The results are there and if I could bet for a team it would be them, for sure.”

Carvalho has been impressive during his short stint at Olympiacos as he has already registered one goal and three assists in only nine appearances.

The 25-year-old took part in the Greek champions' charity friendly with Shakhtar Donetsk, which aimed at raising awareness for Ukraine and gathering funds for those affected by Russia's unjust invasion.

The former Benfica ace told the Shakhtar players he will be praying for them and their families every day.

Carvalho added: "It’s always a difficult moment for the people living there and we did it because we need to show solidarity.

"I hope the future becomes better day by day, I was very proud to be on the pitch and to make a lot of money for them.

"It’s very important that we showed that the future will be good.

“I know what they [Shakhtar players] are feeling, when people are going through a difficult moment it’s not good to ask them if they are good or not because you know they are not good.

"But I told them I will pray every day for them and for their families.”
