  • Dalot praises Ronaldo

Diogo Dalot has lauded Cristiano Ronaldo as he revealed the three things he has learnt in training from him.

He told Sky Sports: "I'm sure I speak not just for me but he's been one of the most positive things about this season.

"To work with somebody who has his culture of working, his professionalism, his mentality and being close to him now... it's been very helpful for me and my career.

"I don't have any more compliments to give about the way he works, he's a fantastic human being as well.

"The numbers are there, the stats are there, so we're obviously very happy to have him here."

  • Dalot's good season

Diogo Dalot has revealed he's had a good season for Man United despite the club's woes.

He said to Sky Sports: "It's difficult to say it's been a good season when the results are not quite there as we expected.

"But individually it's been good in terms of playing much more. Playing regularly has been one of my biggest desires since I came here and I've fought very hard to get it.

"It's been good with more minutes than other seasons so I'm very happy with that.

"But obviously I want to combine that with team performances, with trophies and that's the aim for the next seasons."

  • Man United protest planned

Man United will play out their final home game to a backdrop of apathy and dissatisfaction that nobody could have been predicted just nine months ago, NEIL CUSTIS WRITES.

What a contrast in mood there was on September 11.

Cristiano Ronaldo had returned and the atmosphere was amazing, as good as Old Trafford has witnessed.

The chants then from the Tollgate pub and on Sir Matt Busby Way were of ‘Viva Ronaldo’.

Now they are ones of protest against the owning Glazer family and United's general malaise.

The plan being put forward for Monday's game against Brentford by one fan group is for everyone to leave with 17 minutes to go, marking the 17 years the Glazers have been in charge.

  • Ronaldo tipped for main role

Ralf Rangnick has tipped Cristiano Ronaldo to have a main role under Erik Ten Hag.

He said to Sky Sports: "He’s showed that he can still be a vital part of this team, but it’s obvious the team needs some more strikers.

"There should be two or three new strikers next season, it’s pretty obvious.”

  • Man United lead transfer race

Man United are leading the race to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic after the Lazio star's agent confirmed Old Trafford is his preferred destination.

The Red Devils are long-term admirers of the Serbian midfielder, who could be available this summer as he refuses to sign a new deal in Rome.

But it is advantage United as the 2019 Coppa Italia winner has his eyes set on competing in the Premier League.

Quoted by , Kezman said: "Sergej has no shortage of offers for the summer transfer window.

"At the moment we are dealing with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.

"He is focused on the end of the season with Lazio, but Sergej wants to go to Manchester."

  • Morning, United fans

Frontmen Lautaro Martinez and Darwin Nunez top the transfer talk as United prepare for tonight's home Prem clash with Brentford.

The Red Devils could again rely on 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo this evening.

But Marcus Rashford and Anthony Elanga hope to once more provide attacking support out wide.

Interim chief Ralf Rangnick openly admits 'a couple of new strikers' are sure to be on incoming boss Erik ten Hag's summer shopping list.

And to that end it's claimed United, Chelsea and PSG are the frontrunners for Benfica £67million-rated striker Darwin Nunez.

The Uruguay superstar, 22, has notched 47 goals and 16 assists in 83 games for the Portuguese giants.

But it's also suggested Inter Milan have rebuffed the Red Devils over Argentina ace Martinez.

United were reportedly willing to offer £42million PLUS Sevilla loanee Anthony Martial for the 24-year-old.

Another priority for Ten Hag is likely to be a new midfield anchorman.

And the main overnight speculation surrounds Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni.

Arsenal are amongst the 22-year-old's other admirers.

But Tchouameni's valuation has shot up to around £60m, helped by winning eight caps since his France debut last September.

Finally, under-fire England duo Rashford and Jesse Lingard could stay at Old Trafford after all - with the chance to impress Ten Hag.

  • 'Ronaldo blameless if Man Utd miss top 4 spot'

Old Trafford legend Dimitar Berbatov insists Cristiano Ronaldo deserves 'no blame' if they miss out on the top four and he decides to move on for Champions League football.

And Berna tips Ronaldo, 37, to keep defying the doubters for a 'few more years'.

Ron is the Red Devils' 17-goal top Prem scorer this season after his surprise return from Juventus.

And Berbatov told Betfair: “Ronaldo is doing incredibly well for his age with the way he plays and the goals he scores,

“To have so many Premier League goals in a season at his age is an incredible achievement. He is doing what he needs to do, and that is score goals.

“His game is different now than it was before, but one thing is a constant, the goals.

"If he decides to go, obviously you can not blame him. When you are used to playing Champions League football every year of your career and then you don't have it, it's tough to accept."

  • Tchouameni on radar

Arsenal and Manchester United are tracking Monaco’s defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, reports say.

Tchouameni is being eyed by a string of other top European clubs.

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio says Prem giants are among the 22-year-old’s top admirers.

But he could cost £60million after picking up eight caps since his France debut last September.

Defensively, he ranks first in Ligue 1 for tackles and interceptions this season, as well as winning over 70% of his aerial duels, FBref reveal.

He? is also strong on the ball, ranking 14th for carries and 10th for passes into the final third in Ligue 1.

  • Huge protests expected at final Utd home game

Manchester United will play out their final home game to a backdrop of apathy and dissatisfaction that nobody could have been predicted just nine months ago, writes NEIL CUSTIS.

The only chink of light in what seems like a very dark tunnel for United fans is that a new manager is arriving in the form of Erik ten Hag.

And a rebuild will not include the likes of out-of-contract Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Edinson Cavani and Nemanja Matic.

Do not expect any emotional farewells for any of them tomorrow.
Interim boss Ralf Rangnick also bows out from Old Trafford.

The best thing that has come out of his tenure has been the telling of a few home truths about the state of the club and what now needs to be done.

But instead it’s reckoned Inter are keen to keep the 24-yar-old.

In contrast, Martial, 26, is now on loan at Sevilla after failing to find consistent form for United.

And he’s likely to be one of the players Ten Hag would happily move on in the summer.

  • 'Utd look into signing Chelsea target Nunez'

Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG are rated the frontrunners for Benfica £67million-rated striker Darwin Nunez.

Journalist Dean Jones reckons incoming United will 'look into' recruiting the Uruguay superstar, 22, when Erik ten Hag takes over as permanent boss this summer.

Nunez has notched 47 goals and 16 assists in 83 games for Benfica, also helping the Portuguese giants to this season's Champions League quarter-finals.

Speculation over a a big-money exit at the end of the season has soared since the turn of the year.

And The Athletic’s  claims United's main opposition would come from Chelsea and PSG.

  • I look up to Cristiano

Cristiano Ronaldo is a “special player to work with” according to Manchester United teammate Anthony Elanga.

20-year-old Elanga has experienced a breakthrough this year.

So far this season he has made 24 first team appearances, scoring three goals and assisting two.

Now he has revealed that Ronaldo helped him settle into Premier League life.

In an interview for the , Elanga said: “You can see his record and the amount of goals he’s scored.

“He know what it takes to get to the top so it’s more than right to just speak to someone like that.

“And yeah, we have a chat the day before or even during a game. You might see us in the warm-up “He’ll speak to me and Sancho together about what we can do in the game, to affect the games – and it’s important to have someone like that in the team.

“He is someone I look up to and speak to and ask for advice and stuff. He is a special player to work with.”

  • Gunners and Utd eye Aurelien

Arsenal and Manchester United are tracking Monaco's defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, reports say.

He? is also strong on the ball, ranking 14th for carries and 10th for passes into the final third in Ligue 1.

  • Marcus & Jesse could stay

England duo Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard have been given lifelines by incoming Manchester United chief Erik ten Hag.

Struggling Rashford, 24, is being assured he will get a chance to perform under Ten Hag next season — and that will boost his England World Cup hopes.

While United team-mate Lingard could perform a U-turn and stay at the club if the new Old Trafford boss convinces him he is part of his plans under the Dutchman’s fresh regime.

  • Utd need Roo-turn of a legend

COMMENT: As soon as Erik ten Hag was given the Manchester United job, it was always a question of when, not if, Steve McClaren got a mention, writes PHIL THOMAS.

It was hardly the toughest joining of the dots when the guessing game began over his backroom team.

Ten Hag had, after all, worked alongside McClaren at Twente and the two have remained close ever since.

And given McClaren’s background — two years as Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant in the glory years — it was something of a no-brainer to many.

Even Fergie himself said the man who went on to become England manager was a key figure at the time. But the key word in that is ‘was’.

Of course, it’s easy to see the benefits of Ten Hag having ‘insider’ knowledge alongside him, as he gets to know his new employers and the sheer enormity of the place. But without decrying McClaren’s qualifications, isn’t there a more obvious candidate out there?

Someone whose Old Trafford links are a lot more recent than the two decades that have passed since Steve was in the dugout?

A man now carving his own impressive reputation on the coaching side, hugely respected for all he achieved as a player and winning a new set of admirers in one of the toughest jobs in football.

What United need now more than ever is to be moving forward. A club desperate to create a new pathway, a new future, hopefully a new dynasty,

So wouldn’t it make more sense for Ten Hag to pick up the phone and ask Wayne Rooney if he would be interested in joining his coaching team?

WHY ROONEY WOULD BE GOOD FOR UTD

  • Model gets behind Haaland joining Utd

She shared a snap on Instagram wearing a jersey with Haaland's name on the back. And she captioned the photo: "Please wear red next season.." adding a crossed fingers emoji to her message.

Previous reports has said that it's United's crosstown rivals Manchester City who have stolen a march on their rivals for Haaland's signature - and have agreed a £500,000-per-week with the player.

The only stumbling block for Haaland was question marks over City manager Pep Guardiola's future.

However, the Spanish tactician is set to extend his contract at the Etihad which has given Haaland the assurances he needs.

Intriguingly, Man Utd could have landed Haaland in January 2020, but missed out because they would not insert a release clause.

  • Inter 'snub £42m Utd bid for Lautaro'

“He’s a terrific young footballer but, somehow, he’s not grown.

“We talk all the time about young lads going elsewhere and improving – the lad Williams as well from Man United – but they’ve gone backwards this year.

“Two players have gone there from big clubs and have gone backwards at Norwich.”

  • It's Your call

Youri Tielemans is set to decide on his next club as speculation grows he could be set for a move to the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham.

It is reported Tielemans has told people close to him he is prepared to make a move, with his preference being Real Madrid.

But Premier League clubs will be keen to try and hijack a deal for the 24-year-old.

Journalist : "Youri Tielemans would have told those around him his preference for a departure to Spain.

"Real Madrid, interested, could position themselves concretely in the coming weeks… To be continued."

  • Darren Fletcher's new role
