Manchester United 0-0 Chelsea
12, Rashford attempts to weave his way past Thiago Silva.
The chance looks to have gone, but he keeps the pressure on and wins the corner off the Brazilian.
The corner is headed back into the danger area where Ronaldo was waiting. He got up for the spectacular. But his bicycle kick doesn't trouble Mendy in goal.
Almost, almost incredible.
Jesse Lingard dropped
Jesse Lingard has been dropped from Manchester United's matchday squad for personal reasons just days after calling their dressing room a "disaster".
Red Devils legend Paul Scholes recently let slip that Lingard told him about the sorry state of affairs behind the scenes at Old Trafford.
Interim boss Ralf Rangnick took a backhanded swipe at Lingard following Scholes' confession.
And the German has now dropped the England international altogether for tonight's clash with Chelsea at the Theatre of Dreams.
Erik will be watching
Erik Ten Hag agreed a three-year deal to become the Red Devils new manager just seven days ago.
Gary Neville has warned the United players that the Dutchman “will be watching” today and “making his decisions based on what he watches”.
Time to fight for your place.
Rangnick offered Austria job
Ralf Rangnick has been offered the job as manager of the Austrian national team.
But SunSport understands the 63-year-old would still continue in his advisory position at Manchester United when Erik ten Hag takes over as boss.
Austrian outlet Kurier claim Rangnick is close to being named as the new head coach.
He is reported to have agreed to an offer from the Austrian FA, and a formal announcement could be made as early as Friday.
Rangnick was appointed interim gaffer at Manchester United after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was axed with a view to a two-year spell as an advisor starting this summer.
On the Blues’ bench
The Chelsea boss names a strong bench consisting of last week’s goalscoring hero, Pulisic and out of favour Lukaku.
Arizabalaga, Chalobah, Sarr, Loftus-Cheek, Saul, Kenedy, Pulisic, Ziyech, Lukaku
James and Rudiger return to Chelsea line-up
Thomas Tuchel tinkers with his squad after their late win against West Ham.
Chalobah makes way for the returning Rudiger, despite the Frenchman’s desire to leave the club in the Summer.
James is back fit and replaces Loftus-Cheek at right wing back.
Jorginho keeps his place after a missed penalty nearly saw his side lose out on three points.
Havertz and Werner remain ahead of Lukaku in the current pecking order.
Mendy, Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Rudiger, James, Jorginho, Kante, Alonso, Mount, Havertz, Werner
A youthful Red Devils bench
Rangnick names four teenagers on the bench this evening alongside ex-Chelsea star Juan Mata, who may get a chance off the bench this evening.
Heaton, Henderson, Bailly, Fernandez, Jones, Hannibal, Mata, Garnacho, Shoretire
Rashford and Ronaldo start for Manchester United
Ralf Rangnick makes one change to the side that lost to Arsenal last weekend.
Injured Sancho makes way to Rashford on the wing.
Elsewhere, Rangnick has kept things the same, but will be hoping for a better defensive performance.
De Gea, Dalot, Lindelof, Varane, Telles, Matic, McTominay, Fernandes, Elanga, Rashford, Ronaldo
Man Utd vs Chelsea
Man Utd's squad has arrived at Old Trafford ahead of their game against Chelsea.
Neves £100m price tage
Wolves manager Bruno Lage has slapped a £100million price tag on Arsenal and Man Utd target Ruben Neves.
The midfielder is a wanted man this summer after a number of standout seasons in the Premier League.
Lage said: “We need to be ready for everything. A player like Ruben Neves has a value of £100m.
“Anything can happen, not just with Ruben.”
Tuanzebe set for Man Utd return
Napoli are ready to reject a permanent deal for Manchester United centre-back Axel Tuanzebe after he flopped on loan.
The injury-hit star, 24, has hardly played since moving to Italy in January.
So the former England Under-21 ace faces another uncertain summer.
Tuanzebe has had THREE loan spells with Aston Villa since 2018.
And after failing to impress in Serie A this term he is unlikely to be in the plans of incoming Old Trafford boss Erik ten Hag.
Calciomercato say Napoli have decided not to turn Tuanzebe's half-season on loan into a purchase after he managed just one top-flight appearance.
Ex-right-back Johnson on Pogba
Former Chelsea and Liverpool right-back Glen Johnson has said that Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba doesn’t have “the character to suit either Liverpool or Chelsea.”
The Frenchman is out of contract this summer and can leave United for free.
On Pogba, Johnson told : “I wouldn’t go for him.
“He’s a sensational individual and he’s won most of the things you can win in football but I don’t believe he has the character to suit either Liverpool or Chelsea.
“There’s no way Jurgen Klopp would sign him. No chance.”
'I'm not dead'
Football super-agent Mino Raiola has been forced to deny claims he has DIED with an angry tweet.
Italian media wrongly claimed the world's biggest football agent, 54, had passed away, which was then reported by the world's press.
Real Madrid even paid their condolences after the fake reports emerged.
But the man himself has denied this from his hospital bed.
Raiola tweeted: "Current health status for the ones wondering: p***d off second time in 4 months they kill me.
"Seem also able to resuscitate."
It is believed Raiola has been suffering with a lung condition, according to German outlet Bild.
The Italian looks after the likes of Manchester United's Paul Pogba, Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland and the legendary Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Could Raiola wreck United plans?
Manchester United managers have not enjoyed the most positive of relationships with Mino Raiola over the years, and Erik ten Hag could become the latest to have his plans thwarted by the super agent.
Ten Hag will arrive from Ajax in the summer and hopes to bring young midfielder Ryan Gravenberch with him as he begins his overhaul of the flailing Red Devils.
However, the 19-year-old Dutch international’s agent is none other than Raiola, who has been meeting with representatives of Bayern Munich over a move for his client to the Bundesliga.
While frustrating many managers, board members and fans, Raiola has built an impressive reputation for putting his players first, and doing all he can to get them the best deals possible.
United hit by UEFA fine
Manchester United have been handed a €10,000 fine following incidents that marred their Champions League home defeat to Atletico Madrid last month.
Atletico manager Diego Simeone was the target of several missiles thrown from the crowd at the end of a bad-tempered Last 16 tie at Old Trafford.
The UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body announced that the fine had been handed out for the 'throwing of objects' although didn't reference the Argentine coach directly.
Welcome Manchester United fans
Manchester United are facing an injury crisis as they prepare to host Chelsea at Old Trafford this evening.
Ralf Rangnick revealed that he would be without EIGHT first team players for the Premier League fixture that United must surely win to keep their dwindling hopes of a top-four finish alive.
Behind-the-scenes, officials have begun working on a number of summer transfer targets - and they include Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
The England international has previously indicated that he would never join Manchester United, but the Red Devils are hoping to make the player an offer he can't refuse.
And United could splash the cash again when it comes striker Victor Osimhen.
Rumours in Italy state that an £84million offer is being submitted to Napoli for the free-scoring Nigerian.
Meanwhile, Rangnick has rubbished reports that he compiled a dossier for the United board labelling his players 'selfish' and 'unprofessional'.
The interim boss insists that would always protect his players, and his only current concern is helping incoming manager Erik ten Hag to build a squad capable of challenging for titles.
