Carlo Ancelotti has become the first manager to win each of Europe's top five leagues having also won league titles with Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan, with whom he also won the Champions League.
The Italian's side led the way all season with rivals Barcelona and Atletico Madrid never mounting a title challenge.
That meant Real winning their 35th league title has been a forgone conclusion for some time, and it has now been confirmed with four games still left to play.
They sit 17 points ahead of their closest challengers Sevilla, and a humiliating 18 ahead of Barcelona, who they have now jumped ahead of in total trophy wins, with 95 to Barca's 94.
