And with Pep Guardiola’s men on the ropes, Karim Benzema’s penalty sealed a 6-5 aggregate win in extra-time to leave City heartbroken.

Now Madrid have another date with destiny as they chase a 14th Champions League crown when they face Liverpool in Paris on May 28.

The Bernabeu’s roof almost came off at the final whistle as their delirious supporters celebrated the epic triumph.

Jubilant players quickly switched tops to don special jerseys that had “A Por La 14” on the back of them - which means “let’s go for No.14” - as they took a lap of honour.

And the party continued back in the dressing-room as Marcelo and the club’s other Brazilian stars showed off their Samba dancing skills.

Although French full-back Ferland Mendy looked to be the ring leader on the makeshift dance floor.

The club, who recently celebrated winning LaLiga, released a number of behind-the-scenes clips of the party.

And nearly every member of the squad was spotted jiving in the jubilant scenes.

The 36-year-old Luka Modric also took time to congratulate fitness coach Antonio Pintus.

The Croatian midfielder screamed “the Pintus method” as he hugged the Italian before getting his own dance on.

The conditioning specialist has been highly-praised for the stamina of the star-studded side after a number of late comebacks this term.

Boss Carlo Ancelotti, who was seen puffing a huge cigar after their title triumph several days ago, was a little less extravagant in his celebrations this time.

But he was spotted enjoying an emotional embrace with his son Davide, who is one of his coaches, on the touchline at full-time.

And no doubt he will be enjoying another cigar should his team secure him an unprecedented fourth Champions League as a manager when they tackle Liverpool.
