Borussia Dortmund goal machine Haaland was announced as City player yesterday.

That is after reports claimed that the 21-year-old travelled to Belgium to undergo a medical examination.

He was joined by Manchester City doctors, with the Belgian capital chosen as the location for the medical “for geographical convenience and to try not to attract attention.”

Personal terms have already been agreed between Haaland and City with Pep Guardiola's side due to activate his £51million release clause.

Haaland has scored an incredible 85 goals in 88 appearances for the Bundesliga giants making him one of the most sought-after names in world football.

However, a fresh report from has claimed that Real Madrid dropped out of the running for his signature due to a demand by the star’s recently deceased agent Mino Raiola.

They claimed that Raiola had insisted on a release clause for £128m that would come into effect during the second year of the player’s contract.

It was designed to ensure that he could leave if things were not going well at the Bernabeu, while also ensuring that the club would almost double their investment if it was met.

However, Real president Florentino Perez allegedly flat-out refused that proposal, allowing City to swoop in instead.

Meanwhile, Dortmund’s CEO Joachim Watzke has vowed to bring in an adequate replacement for Haaland.

He said: “We have played football for 113 years, and for 111 we played without Haaland.

“After Lewandowski left, Aubameyang came, then Erling. We will find a great replacement for him.”
