LUKAS PODOLSKI has slammed Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho's treatment of Bastian Schweinsteiger as "simply not right."
The ex-Arsenal and current Galatasaray winger has hit out at the Special One after seeing his former Germany and Bayern Munich colleague made an outcast at Old Trafford.
Schweinsteiger was signed for United by Louis Van Gaal at the beginning of last season and has struggled to make an impact in Manchester mainly due to injury.
But new boss Mourinho almost instantly decided he no longer needed the German and promptly made to train with the youth team - much to Podolski's annoyance.
Schweinsteiger has not played a game for United since Mourinho took charge in the summer, and Podolski told : "When you look at the career Bastian has had, I can only say that what is happening there is simply not right for a player of his stature.

"I do not know what Mourinho has discussed with Bastian. But is clear that it is not okay to drop someone like Basti to the reserves.
"A coach should always keep his door open to all players, and especially to players like Schweini.
Schweinsteiger is still getting paid a whopping £200,000-a-week and and revealed United would be the last European club he played for, favouring a move to the MLS.
And Podolski hinted Stateside could be edging closer for his international colleague, and even revealed he could join him in the US if he left Turkey.
He added: "I think America is great. Moving abroad is good for personality development and it would also be good for our children.
“Clearly it would be possible to play with Schweinsteiger in the States."
Earlier this month, Schweinsteiger said: “The transfer window is closed in the USA so I’m not going there now.
“It’s my dream still to play for Manchester United and if I get a fair chance, I believe in it.
“The USA is certainly an option, should it come to that."
