Drake curse strikes again as rapper puts $230K bet on Charles Leclerc to win Spanish GP before he’s forced to retire
DRAKE has proved he Can’t Have Everything after betting £186,000 on Charles Leclerc to win the Spanish Grand Prix.
The Ferrari driving was leading Sunday’s Formula One race comfortably, only to retire on lap 27 due to engine failure.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen eventually came home in first place to leapfrog Leclerc at the top of the F1 standings after six races.
It proved to be a bitter pill for Canadian rapper Drake to swallow, after he took to his story prior to the GP to share his bet slip.
In a post that has since been removed, the 35-year-old showed he bet $550,000 CAD (£186k) on Leclerc to win in Barcelona after he started in pole position.
Should the Monegasque driver have won, Drake would have pocketed a cool £446k, but unfortunately it was Money In The Grave for the Laugh Now Cry Later star.

His failed gamble is just the latest of huge bets the four-time Grammy winger has lost, proving the ‘Drake Curse’ is living on.
Drake lost with a mammoth £346k bet after he predicted Justin Gaethje would beat Charles Oliveira at UFC 274, which he didn’t.
That came just two months after he failed with a £223k bet on Masvidal to win his grudge match with former pal Colby Covington.
Drake has proven to be an unlucky charm for a number of high-profile sports stars in recent years, who have posed for pictures with him and then lost.

And now it appears that Drake betting on an individual will prove costly for whoever he is backing.
Social media was sent into meltdown after his bet on Leclerc came to light, as one fan tweeted: “Bro the Drake curse is REAL, we need to ban this man from F1.”
Another then joked: “The Drake curse made its debut in F1 soon as I saw this I knew to bet against it.”
This person then quipped: “The Drake curse is alive and well.”
One then simply stated: “The Drake curse has evolved.”
Meanwhile another remarked: “Drake actually has a curse. This s*** toooo funny.”
