Justin Rose shrugs off leaked medical records because he thought everyone knew about them anyway
The English golfer was targeted by Russian hackers, but he insists he wasn't bothered
JUSTIN ROSE was shocked his medical records were leaked — because he thought they were public anyway.
Russian hackers revealed he had a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) to take an anti-inflammatory drug for a back injury, which forced him out of May’s BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
Rose eventually returned to action at the US Open in June and said: “Honestly, I wasn’t bothered one little bit about it.
“In fact, I didn’t even know TUEs were kept private. It’s not like you take something and ask for forgiveness.
“You apply for it, it’s granted, you do it and that procedure is in place for an athlete who is having medical issues, not someone trying to gain anything from it.”
