GIORGIO CHIELLINI is on the verge of finalising his transfer move to Los Angeles FC.
The veteran Italian defender is leaving Juventus this month on a free after a stunning 17-year career with the Serie A giants.
Now he is set to complete his switch to America’s Major League Soccer to begin a new chapter.
The Associated Press claim a source informed them that a deal between Chiellini and Los Angeles FC has still not officially been signed.
However, LAFC hope to complete the contract later this week with the player to arrive in America in the coming weeks - which also backed up after claiming talks had taken place in London.
The club is currently top of the MLS Western Coast standings and already has an impressive defensive record so far this term.
Steve Cherundolo’s men have conceded just 16 goals in 29 matches.
However, the addition of Chiellini is an opportunity too good to resist.
The ace was given a standing ovation by Juventus fans as he bade an emotional farewell to the club last month.
He has played more than 400 league games for the Turin-based side since joining in 2004.
