England top scorer: How many goals does Harry Kane have for the Three Lions
ENGLAND captain Harry Kane will be hoping to widen the gap on his goal scoring record for England at Euro 2024 this summer.
The 30-year-old smashed the record, previously held by Wayne Rooney, last year.
The England no.9 bagged his record breaking goal on March 23, 2023 when he put Gareth Southgate's side 2-0 up against Italy.
The goal was his 54th in an England shirt and took him one past Wayne Rooney who had held the record for eight years.
On his way to the top Kane has surpassed Three Lions icon Sir Bobby Charlton and Gary Lineker as well as Rooney.
The Bayern Munich star even commemorated his tally by gifting every teammate who had helped him along the way with a framed broken record.
Speaking after the monumental moment, he said: "Playing for England is probably my greatest feeling in football. I want to do it for as long as possible and as a striker I want to score in every game.
"Hopefully there will be many more."
Since he bagged that special goal against Italy he has continued to score goals on a regular basis while wearing an England shirt.
And now he is ready to lead the nation out at Euro 2024 in Germany and will be hoping to put even more breathing space between hi and any future player looking to hunt down his record.
