GEOR DROPPING

Haney makes history by beating Kambosos Jr to unify lightweight division

Prior to the fight the American held the IBF lightweight belt but beat Kamosos to collect the WBA, IBF, WBO and lineal crowns.

That means he has unified the lightweight division at the age of just 23 – becoming the first person to achieve the feat since Pernell Whitaker in 1990.

After the fight Haney said: “This is a dream come true.

“I was comfortable. I was sticking to the game plan, the game plan was to go in and hit and not get hit and I did that for the majority of the fight.
