SUBBUTEO has released its first ever female football set — based on England’s Lionesses team.
Inspired by stars such as Ellen White and Lucy Bronze, the officially-licensed set has been created ahead of next month’s home Euros.
More products are planned for this year’s 75th anniversary of the game which sees players flick mini footballers with their fingers to hit a plastic ball.
Maker University Games said: “Subbuteo is a nostalgic brand that has evoked childhood memories for many.
“We hope that in this anniversary year, our new products can inspire more of the next generation to dazzle friends and family with their skills!”
A women’s team was produced as a competition prize for the 2018 FA Cup final between Arsenal and Chelsea but it was not available to buy.

Hasbro relaunched the brand in 2012.
And in 2020, supplier Subbuteo World announced University Games would produce teams and a Video Assistant Referee set.
