David Beckham’s Inter Miami set to get £40k compensation for Gareth Bale’s LAFC transfer due to odd ‘discovery clause’

DAVID BECKHAM'S Inter Miami side are set to net a tidy £40,000 windfall for Gareth Bale's transfer to rivals Los Angeles FC.

The Welsh winger's contract with former side Real Madrid expired in early June.

And he seemed poised for a move to Cardiff City before opting to join LAFC on a free transfer.

MLS teams can only include seven players on their wish lists.

So LAFC will have to pay Miami the hefty lump sum as compensation to remove Bale from their list, the report adds.

Bale will link up with fellow football veteran Giorgio Chiellini in Los Angeles next season.

The 37-year-old announced he was heading to LA after 18 years with Juventus.
