Chelsea transfer news: AC Milan still want Cesc Fabregas and are keen to get a deal done in January
Chelsea will demand a player plus cash deal for Cesc Fabregas as they eye up defender Mattia De Sciglio
CESC FABREGAS could be set to leave Chelsea and join Italian giants AC Milan in a player plus cash deal.
Milan were interested in Fabregas in the summer but Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was keen to keep hold of the World Cup winner.
But having been dropped for the trip to Hull City at the weekend Fabregas's future at Stamford Bridge looks bleak according to Italian website .
Chelsea's defence has looked fragile this season with Conte desperately trying to tweak the back four to stop them shipping goals.
So with the opportunity to negotiate with Milan all the way to January Conte will be planning to nab defender Mattia De Sciglio who has recently been linked with Liverpool.
Chelsea were forced in to re-signing David Luiz from PSG on deadline day for £30m after missing their primary target Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.
De Sciglio is a versatile full back and will be brought in as a long term for the ageing Branislav Ivanovic as Conte wont want to leave himself short if any more injuries hit the defence.
The Blues will look to get £8.7m for Fabregas a player they signed from Barcelona for £27m under Jose Mourinho.

But since then its all gone a little sour for the midfielder as his performances were well below par last season along with his team mates.

With a new boss in charge Fabregas could have been forgiven for thinking that he could get his Chelsea career back on track.
Conte it appears just doesn't fancy the former Barca and Arsenal man, when just two years ago most of Europe would have jumped at the chance to take Fabregas, apart from the Gunners who snubbed their first refusal deal with the Catalans.
It looks like to be a sad end to a career in the Premier League for Fabregas a player that burst on to the scene at just 16 years old for Arsenal is now an unwanted World Cup winner with few options ahead of him.
