Rangers scouting £8MILLION rated Israeli superkid Oscar Gloukh as star lights up Euro youth championships

RANGERS are scouting Israeli superkid Oscar Gloukh but Maccabi Tel Aviv have immediately stuck a £8 million price tag on the 18-year-old playmaker.

Gloukh helped his country to a surprise run in the European Under 19s Championships where they reached tonight's final against England.

And scouts from Rangers were watching him in Israel's 2-1 semi-final win against France at Dunajska Streda in Slovakia this week with local reports claiming Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side are leading the way to sign Gloukh, who only made his debut last season.

However, the Tel Aviv club have made it clear they are in no rush to sell their highly-rated young talent, who only signed a two-year contract earlier this year and they are already trying to persuade him to extend it.

Maccabi Tel Aviv manager Vladimir Ivic stated: "We do not want to sell him and we are currently trying to get him to sign a new contract for another four years.

"He wouldn't be sold unless a team offered £8 million for him.

"The most important thing is that the speculation surrounding his future won't have any impact on him because he's a very level-headed kid."

Meanwhile, former Hamilton owner Ronnie MacDonald reckons Rangers are missing a trick letting former Hamilton star Lewis Ferguson leave the Premiership.

Ferguson is wanted by Serie A new boys Lecce in a £2million deal.
MacDonald was Accies owner when Ferguson landed his move to Aberdeen in 2018 — claiming at the time the teen was a “once in ten years” player.

Accies were furious at Aberdeen’s initial £100,000 bid for the player — £20,000 for every year of Ferguson’s youth development at Accies — after he signed a Dons pre-contract four years ago.

And they were little happier when a tribunal fixed the price

Aberdeen would pay at just over double that amount three months later.

MacDonald now believes the player’s value has been proven to be closer to the £1.2m that Hamilton wanted for him.

He said: “The minute Lewis went to Aberdeen, he went straight into their first team and scored with an overhead kick against Burnley in the Europa League.

“It made a mockery of the valuation they’d originally put on him.
