Barcelona are interested in Valencia’s Joao Cancelo and are willing to swap Aleix Vidal to get their man

Aleix Vidal is nearing the exit door at the Nou Camp as Luis Enrique is losing patience with the Austrian right back

ALEIX VIDAL'S future at Barcelona looks bleak especially after his dreadful form this season and Luis Enrique has had enough.

Barca have entered in to negotiations with Valencia with a view to swapping Vidal for Portuguese right back Joao Cancelo.

Vidal's form has even left him out of the Austrian sqaud for their World Cup qualifiers and it is now looking like a deal for him to leave is all the more likely to happen sooner rather than later.

Enrique cant just rely on one right back for an entire campaign that includes one of the toughest title races in La Liga and an assault on Europe .

Scouts from the Catalans were in attendance at the Mestalla Stadium to watch Cancelo and they believe he is the man to challenge Sergi Roberto for a the right back position as Enrique wants to double up in every position.

According to Valencia are also keen in a deal to swap the players as Vidal can play in the same positions as Cancelo and offers some versatility.

The deal however wont be a straight swap between the pair as Valencia are likely to want more than the £13m they paid for Cancelo.

Barcelona know that by offering Vidal a player that has no future at the club they will get the 22 year old for less.

Deportivo Alaves and Celta Vigo have beaten Barcelona already this season and with just 7 games in to the campaign Barca seem to be hitting a wall.

They only sit 2 points from the top with Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid leading the way on just 15 points in a season where the big teams haven't found their rhythm.

Barca though look beatable without Lionel Messi and teams in La Liga can smell blood as the giants of Europe look to be coming to an end of their dominant years.

What will be encouraging is that both teams from Madrid have not been able to pull away in the league leaving the door wide open for more teams to challenge at the top.
