Everton in talks to steal Maxwel Cornet from Burnley in summer transfer as Frank Lampard raids relegated side
EVERTON are trying to sign Burnley ace Maxwel Cornet during the summer transfer window, reports suggest.
That is according to The Athletic's David Ornstein, who reports that the Toffees are trying to work out a deal to bring Cornet, 25, to Goodison Park.
There are also other clubs keeping tabs on the winger but the Merseysiders are the "most likely destination".
That's a major transfer boost for Everton manager Frank Lampard who is looking to strengthen his squad after a rough season that almost saw his team relegated.

Cornet joined Burnley from Lyon last year and has a contract until 2026.
The Ivory Coast international amassed a total of nine goals and two assists in 28 appearances on his debut season with the Clarets.
Everton are looking to give the 25-year-old a way back to the Premier League after Burnley's relegation to the Championship.

If the Toffees manage to land the Ivorian then that would mark their second signing that comes from Vincent Kompany's side.
The Merseysiders got James Tarkowski on a free transfer after his contract ran out in June.
