And things got heated between the now team-mates during a practice session on pre-season tour.

The former Real Madrid defender, 36, was nowhere near the ball when attempting to stop the Barcelona legend.

Following the Spaniard's hard challenge, 35-year-old Messi still managed to find the bottom corner.

The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner then turned round and sought out Ramos for verbals.

The Parisians won Ligue 1 at a canter last season but Messi and Ramos both struggled individually.

After huge fanfare following his move to the French capital, Messi could not replicate his top form in Catalunya.

He scored just six times in 26 domestic league games for PSG.

The Argentine was on the pitch as his new club crashed out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage at the hands of his old rivals, Real Madrid.

Ramos meanwhile, had an injury-filled time in Paris and missed the majority of the season.

The centre-back only managed to make 12 appearances in Ligue 1, completing 90 minutes just eight times.
