Fulham set to complete £6m transfer for Wolfsburg’s Kevin Mbabu with ex-Newcastle star returning to Premier League
FULHAM are set to complete the signing of Swiss right-back Kevin Mbabu after he completed his medical over the weekend.
The Cottagers have agreed a fee of £6.4million with German club Wolfsburg to land Mbabu.
Manager Marco Silva has been keen to improve across the board this summer as he bids to end Fulham's yo-yo run of promotion followed by relegation now they are back in the Premier League.
Mbabu, 27, has experience of English football thanks to a spell with Newcastle from 2013 to 2017.
Mbabu has 22 caps for Switzerland and will be looking to make a much bigger impact on the Premier League having made just three top-flight appearances during his time with the Magpies.
The full-back spent much time out on loan away from St. James' Park at Rangers and Young Boys before making the switch to the Swiss club permanent.

He then joined Wolfsburg in 2019 and with just one year left on his deal with the Bundesliga side they are happy to cash in.
He played for the club 82 times netting three goals and registering five assists in all competitons.
Mbabu will be Fulham's third signing of the summer.
The West Londoners have already signed midfield duo Joao Palhinha and Andreas Pereira from Sporting Lisbon and Manchester United respectively.

Fulham are also keen to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno and discussions continue between the London rivals to agree a fee for the German.
They are also reportedly trying to convince Aaron Ramsey and Serge Aurier to join.
The club return to the Premier League when they kick off their season by hosting Liverpool on August 6.
