‘S***, don’t tell your mum’ – Ricky Hatton once floored son Campbell aged 14 during brutal sparring session

RICKY HATTON once went floored son Campbell with a vicious body shot in training - and then he begged him not to tell his mum.

Campbell's burgeoning career has been aided by regular training sessions with his old man down the years.

But at the tender age of 14, he felt the full force of one of the former two-weight world champion's famed body shots.

Campbell, now 21, recalled the incident in an interview with the Daily Mail, saying: "I threw a shot.

"Muscle memory - he has pulled out the way and then come flying in, big left hook to the body.

"I hit the deck and I'm rolling, trying to breathe. I hear him over me, 'S***, don't tell your mum.'"

Campbell wasn't put off by the flattening his dad gave him and continues to train with him to this day.

Ricky shared a photo of the pair sparring on Instagram last month, proudly writing: "Very emotional day for me as a father today.

"Couldn’t be prouder of @campbellhatton anyway as everyone knows."

"But I never thought I’d see him turn pro and I especially never thought I’d be in a training camp sparring with him.

Campbell is currently 7-0 as a pro, with two stoppage wins to his name.

Training with Campbell has played a huge role in Ricky's dramatic body transformation, which has seen him drop a whopping TWO STONE.

He told The Telegraph: "I was 14 [stone] six and I’m 12 two now, I’ve lost that in seven weeks which is incredible.

"It's about exercise and diet, knowing to eat the right things, when to eat the right things.

"'I used to be in the pub a few nights a week. Now I’m not drinking, I’ve had a couple of glasses of wine over the last couple of weeks in the house.

"My willpower is strong. I still have my nights out but they’re few and far between and I think this Ricky is here to stay.

"I like to go for meals, I like takeaways, I like to have a pie, I’m never going to be one of them but I’m enjoying the fact that everyone comes up to me and says, 'Ricky you’re looking well.

"No one can say, 'You fat b*****d anymore.' And I can hide behind a lamp-post now - not a skip."
