Man Utd youngster Zidane Iqbal plays his way into first-team plans with Ten Hag set to snub any transfer requests

ZIDANE IQBAL has reportedly played his way into Erik ten Hag’s first-team plans at Manchester United.

The midfielder, 19, made his debut for the Red Devils during the 1-1 draw with Young Boys in the Champions League back in December.

He then penned a new long-term deal at Old Trafford last month before joining Ten Hag and his senior counterparts on United’s pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia.

Zidane shone in the 4-0 win over Liverpool despite coming up against the likes of seasoned-pros Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara and Naby Keita.

His performances have even caught the eye at international level.

Iqbal made his debut for Iraq during their World Cup qualifiers against Iran and Lebanon.

A host of clubs would love to take the teenager on loan this term from United.

However, the states that Ten Hag will snub all approaches as he wants to keep the ace with his squad.

Meanwhile, one player who looks set to leave is young goalkeeper Nathan Bishop.

The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Mansfield.

He made 46 appearances for the Stags in an excellent campaign that resulted in League Two play-off final agony.

Now Bishop is due to step up a level and spend the next 12 months with League One Wycombe.

Ten Hag's side will kick off the season with a home game against Brighton on August 7.
