  • Arsenal target's future uncertainty

Arsenal have been put on red alert by transfer target Cody Gakpo.

The Gunners have been tracking the PSV winger all summer.

And it's emerged that they may have had a breakthrough as Gakpo's unsure about his future in the Netherlands.

This has resulted in PSV slapping a £34m price tag on Gakpo, according to ED.

  • Pep doesn't fear Arsenal threat

Man City boss Pep Guardiola sold Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal as he doesn't view the Gunners as a threat.

That's according to Roy Keane who feels Pep's more preoccupied with Liverpool than the likes of Arsenal.

He said of Pep: "He probably, at this moment in time with the money that came in, doesn’t see these clubs – certainly Arsenal – as a threat.”

“The big worry at the moment is trying to keep ahead of Liverpool. Liverpool and Manchester City are so far ahead of the other teams, he thought it’s worth a gamble.”

  • So long Balogun

Arsenal youngster Folarin Balogun is reportedly undergoing a medical today ahead of a loan switch to Reims.

The 21-year-old is set to leave the Emirates on a temporary deal to gain more first team experience.

Balogun will join the midtable French club for the season, according to French newspaper .

There is reported to be no option or obligation to buy for Reims and the deal is a straight loan swap.

  • Leno edges closer to Fulham

Arsenal have agreed a deal with Fulham to sell goalkeeper Bernd Leno, according to reports.

Marco Silva's side have been tracking Leno for much of the summer and are set to seal the move soon.

According to , Fulham have had an £8million bid accepted.

Leno has also agreed personal terms and will undergo a medical this week before finalising the transfer.

  • Arsenal tipped for top four

Arsenal's hopes of a top four finish this season has been backed by Peter Schmeichel.

The Man United legend reckons the Gunners' summer signings will give them the boost needed to edge their rivals for the coveted position.

He told the Times: "I’m looking at Arsenal and for the first time in a long time thinking 'top four'."

  • MORNING GOONERS

Cody Gakpo is a £37million target for the Gunners, according to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs.

Although no bid has been lodged, Jacobs says a move could happen quickly should Arsenal try to sign him - due to his love for the club.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly unsure about whether to loan Folarin Balogun, according to reports.

The Athletic claims that French Ligue 1 side Reims are reportedly interested in signing the young striker.

However, the Gunners are torn between keeping him and immersing him into the first team or letting him leave for more first team experience elsewhere.

Left-back Nuno Tavares has joined Marseille on loan for the season, and manager Mikel Arteta has explained the reason why.

“For Nuno’s development, I think it’s going to be really important,” he said.

“Obviously, we have recruited Oleks in that position and we have Kieran as well, which is two really strong players in that position, and we believe that Nuno’s best solution was to do that.”

Leah Williamson fought back the tears as she lifted the Euro2022 trophy alongside her teammates on Sunday.

She said: "I can't stop crying.

"We talk and we talk and we've finally done it. It's the proudest moment of my life.

"I'm taking in every single second because I'll want to relive this for a long time."

  • Samuel Umtiti latest

Barcelona chiefs are set to meet Olympiacos officials on Monday to discuss a potential deal for Arsenal target Samuel Umtiti, reports suggest.

Umtiti has fallen out of favour at Barca, who are full at centre-back as they have Jules Kounde, Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Eric Garcia and Gerard Pique - although he has also been linked with a departure.

According to , the Catalan giants will hold talks with Olympiacos early next week to discuss a potential deal that would see the 28-year-old moving away from the Nou Camp.

  • Gakpo move

Cody Gakpo is a £37million target for the Gunners, according to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs.

Although no bid has been lodged, Jacobs says a move could happen quickly should Arsenal try to sign him.

Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT: “Gakpo is an interesting one. It’s one to watch. Arsenal haven’t got anything advanced at this point, but he has openly said that he would like to move to the Premier League.

“He’s also spoken about his admiration for Thierry Henry and I think that got Arsenal fans pretty excited. But he also said he admired Virgil Van Dijk. So the interest is there. But there’s nothing advanced at the time of speaking.”

  • Abraham happy at Roma

Arsenal target Tammy Abraham has revealed his happiness at Roma.

The English striker was linked with the Gunners, but has been a hit in Serie A and has admitted now he's in no hurry to return to our shores.

"The first day I arrived at Roma I felt at home. I'm in no hurry to return to the Premier League because here I can express my way of playing. In Italy I feel happy in every respect,” he told Corriere dello Sport.

“Believe me, I don't think about the future, but about the present. I focus exclusively on the season that is about to begin, because I want it to be even more rewarding than the first I experienced in Italy.”

  • Arteta explains Tavares loan deal

Left-back Nuno Tavares has joined Marseille on loan for the season, and manager Mikel Arteta has explained the reason why.

"For Nuno’s development, I think it’s going to be really important," he said.

"Obviously, we have recruited Oleks in that position and we have Kieran as well, which is two really strong players in that position, and we believe that Nuno’s best solution was to do that."

  • Balogun dilemma

Arsenal are reportedly unsure about whether to loan Folarin Balogun, according to reports.

The Athletic claims that French Ligue 1 side Reims are reportedly interested in signing the young striker.

However, the Gunners are unsure if they should keep him and immerse him into the first team or let him leave for more first team experience.

  • Schmeichel tips Gunners for top 4

Man Utd legend Peter Schmeichel has backed Arsenal for a top four finish.

Speaking with The Times, the Danish goalie said: “The competition will come from Chelsea, and from Spurs, who have signed well and in Antonio Conte have a very clever manager who is so good at getting the maximum out of his players.

“I’m also looking (at) Arsenal and for the first time in a long time thinking “top four”.

  • Odegaard reaction to captaincy

Martin Odegaard has been named as the new captain of Arsenal, and he's delighted with it.

The Norway playmaker wore the arm band vs Sevilla in the Emirates Cup in a 6-0 thumping of the LaLiga side.

Afterwards, he revealed his pride of being tasked with leading the Gunners.

He said: "Of course I was happy, proud and grateful for the trust and for him wanting me to be the captain.

"That’s a big achievement for me and it’s nice to be part of such a good team, so I’m going to enjoy that."

  • Umtiti blow for Gunners

Barcelona chiefs are reportedly set to meet Olympiacos officials on Monday to discuss a potential deal for ‘Arsenal target’ Samuel Umtiti.

Umtiti has fallen out of favour at Barca, who are full at centre-back as they have Jules Kounde, Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Eric Garcia and Gerard Pique, who has also been linked with a departure.

The Blaugrana have been trying to offload the France international, who has been a long-term Gunners target, ever since last year but his injury history as well as his wages have posed as a stumbling block.

According to ESPN’s Moil Lorens, the Catalan giants will hold talks with Olympiacos early next week to discuss a potential deal that would see the 28-year-old moving away from the Nou Camp.

  • Edu on Emery

Arsenal technical director Edu, though, cited replacing Emery with compatriot Mikel Arteta as a major breakthrough in the club’s upward trajectory.

Edu told SunSport: “With all due respect, the project really started when we decided to change Unai.

“That was my first planning, to go to the board and explain the reason to go in a different direction. We needed to have a coach with a very clear plan and structure of how he wanted the team to play.

“We had to be really brave to change the coach in the middle of the season because a lot of internal people were telling me, ‘We’ve never done that before’.

“But if you’ve diagnosed that change is necessary, the decision has to be made quickly. It hurts but don’t postpone something that must be done.

“Then I started to interview coaches and as soon as I went to meet Mikel at his house, I could see this guy had a plan.

“And now he’s going to make the club’s life easier because with him as coach I could give Arsenal a five-year plan.”

  • ICYMI - Emery plays one in the middle

Cheeky Unai Emery flipped the bird at football fans giving him stick in a hilarious comeback.

The former Arsenal manager failed to win over the Gunners fans with a tough 18-month spell at the Emirates.

As well as struggles on the pitch, many mercilessly trolled the Spaniard for his grasp of the English language.

Supporters lined up outside St Mary’s yesterday after the LaLiga side’s 2-1 pre-season friendly win over Southampton.

As they asked for autographs, one said: “Can you say, ‘Unai Emery, good ebening,'” in reference to the way he always started press conferences.

Emery gave a polite smile and then one quipped: “Unai Emery I think you done very good at Arsenal.”

And the former Real Sociedad midfielder, 50, responded fantastically by sticking up his middle finger at the lads, who couldn’t believe what they saw.

  • Sevilla hit for six

Even worse was to follow for the visitors when Bono passed straight to Saka as he tried to play out from the back and Arsenal’s newly crowned Player of the Year was never going to look that gift horse in the mouth.

It was to be another hour before Jesus completed his triple with another opportunist strike, his seventh goal for the Gunners.

Eddie Nketiah completed the rout on 88 minutes after replacing Jesus while William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko were applauded for every touch in their first Emirates appearance for Arsenal.

  • Lowdown of Gunners Sevilla smashing

Having won all four of their previous warm-up games in Nuremberg and the USA, Gunners fans were eager to see if their team could maintain that momentum against the side which finished fourth in La Liga last season.

And they didn’t have to wait long for an answer as Arsenal ran riot with an astonishing four-goal burst in the opening 19 minutes.

Bukayo Saka started the Emirates massacre when he converted a ninth minute penalty after being barged over in the box by Karim Rekik. Jesus doubled their lead five minutes later when Sevilla keeper Bono pushed Granit Xhaka’s low cross straight into the path of the lurking Brazilian.

And Arsenal’s new £45million signing from Manchester City struck again within seconds when he ghosted in behind Seville’s dozing defence to convert Gabriel Martinelli’s ball over the top.

  • Corg blimey

Former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue once told the Queen he would quit football to look after her corgis.

He revealed how he went against Thierry Henry's wishes during an encounter with Her Majesty - only to leave the Queen in stitches.

Speaking to  back in 2016, he said: "We went there and Thierry Henry said to me: 'Please, Emmanuel, this is Buckingham Palace, it's the Queen's house, don't do anything.'

"I said: 'No problem. Don't worry'.

“So the Queen came in and went along shaking each player's hand. After she'd finished I saw all her corgis so I said, 'Ma'am, Ma'am'.

“She turned back and asked, 'How are you?'

“And I said, 'Ma'am, I am OK thank you but please, I don't want to be a footballer any more, I want to look after your dogs. I want to take them for walks, wash them, feed them. I want to be a dog carer’.

“The Queen, honestly, she was laughing. Prince Philip was laughing too. All the team were laughing."

  • Five days to go...

Arsenal’s opening clash against Crystal Palace is just a few days away!

For the second year running, the Gunners will play away on a Friday night to kick off the new term on August 5.

Mikel Arteta’s side have been handed a favourable start to the Premier League season, not having to face any of the ‘Big Six’ in the opening month.

That is a stark contrast to last campaign’s nightmare beginning where they faced Chelsea and Manchester City in their first three matches.

  • ‘Martin makes Gabby better’, says Arteta

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta explained his optimism over Martin Odegaard’s partnership with Gabriel Jesus.

Arteta said: “Martin makes Gabby better and he needs that threat in front of him because he’s someone who can play the final pass at any moment, whether he’s in closed open spaces.

“We have been recruiting to improve the team with things we didn’t have before and the connection between Martin and Gabby is already there.”

  • Werner wants Arsenal

Timo Werner would prefer old club RB Leipzig or Arsenal over Newcastle if he leaves Chelsea, reports say.

Sky Germany suggest the striker is more interested in winning honours than earning big bucks.

And they claim that means Newcastle are only “outsiders” – should Chelsea decide to loan him out or sell.
