Piers Morgan predicts Thomas Tuchel will WALK AWAY from Chelsea this season over transfer frustrations

THOMAS TUCHEL will sensationally QUIT Chelsea after growing frustrated at this summer's transfer activity, according to Piers Morgan.

The Blues are in a real period of transition after American Todd Boehly took over at the club in a £4.25billion deal, replacing Roman Abramovich after he was slapped with sanction over his ties to Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Chelsea will miss out on the top four, predicts Piers Morgan

The West Londoners have already signed Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly this summer, but have missed out on a host of top targets, such as Raphinha and Jules Kounde, to Barcelona.

And Piers is tipping rouble-deprived Chelsea to struggle in 2022-23 - and Tuchel to quit as a result.

He told SunSport: "Thomas Tuchel will walk once Chelsea’s season hits the buffers around late February and his frustration explodes at not having Vladimir Putin’s pal Roman Abramovich to buy him out of trouble."

Piers also revealed he's tipping Chelsea to FAIL in their hunt for a Champions League spot.

The Blues finished third last season as the "best of the rest" - miles behind Manchester City and Liverpool.

But with Arsenal and Tottenham improving drastically over the summer, Piers reckons North London will pip West London to the top four.

After tipping City to win the league again, Piers added: "Jurgen Klopp’s team will fall short of City because Darwin Nunez is no Sadio Mane, an underrated steely-eyed assassin whose departure was a huge blow to Liverpool’s title hopes.

"As for my other top-four picks, I’m convinced North London’s rivals will prevail over rouble-deprived Chelsea and a Manchester United side so awful that Cristiano Ronaldo will take a pay cut to leave them."

However, Piers wasn't backing his Gunners to reclaim bragging rights in North London.

He concluded: "It kills me to put Spurs above Arsenal...

"But I fear they have a stronger, smartly reinforced squad, the best strike force duo in Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, and in their magnificently volatile manager Antonio Conte, a natural-born winner who, unlike Mikel Arteta, will view coming third as a humiliating failure."

On his beloved Gunners, Piers concluded: "I’m more optimistic about Arsenal’s chances than for years.

"Jesus looks like the divine intervention we’ve been craving upfront since the Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang debacle.

"And a midfield bursting with youthful talent like [Oleksandr] Zinchenko, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe is exciting."
