Nunez did score on his Prem debut in a 2-2 draw against Fulham on the opening weekend.

But his dismissal in front of the Anfield faithful was the worst possible way to ingratiate himself to Liverpool supporters.

It came after Wilfried Zaha had given the visitors a first half lead with a lethal counter-attacking strike.

Luis Diaz levelled for the hosts just four minutes after Nunez's sending off with an incredible solo strike.

But Liverpool could not find a winner as Jurgen Klopp's wait for a first win of the season moves into the third weekend of fixtures.
