THIS is the “monstrous” moment MMA star Luke Rockhold smeared his bloodied face over Paulo Costa at UFC 278.
Fans were left aghast at Rockhold’s behaviour during the fight on Saturday night.
The 37-year-old American, who hadn't fought in THREE years, lost the middleweight contest against his Brazilian opponent, 31.
But Rockhold made sure he left his mark on Costa while both men were grappling in the octagon.
Blood was pouring from the two UFC fighters as Rockhold scrambled on top of Costa.
And as he gripped his rival, Rockhold proceeded to rub his bloodied face over Costa’s.

The stunt tickled the commentators, with one calling it “hilarious, twisted… so Luke Rockhold.”
But punters watching from home were less amused.
One declared: “Luke Rockhold wiping his blood on Costa’s face is one of the most monstrous things I’ve ever seen.”
Another boomed: “I just can’t believe Rockhold wiped his blood all over Costa.”

One noted: “Rockhold rubbing his blood in Costa’s face, what a nutter.”
Another added: “Rockhold is an animal. Smearing his blood is one of the hardest things I’ve ever seen.”
Despite the dirty tricks, it was Costa who had the last laugh as he emerged victorious in a unanimous decision.
But he was gracious in victory, saying: “Rockhold surprised me with his chin.
“He’s got a lot of creative shots on the face, on the chin. People say he doesn’t have a good chin but he does.”

As for Rockhold, he appeared to confirm his retirement from UFC, adding: “I’ve been through so much the last few years.
“Thank you UFC, I can’t do this any more. I gave it my all but I’m old.”
