Scott Parker's men were 5-0 down going into the break, and things went from bad to worse for the newly-promoted side in the second half.

The south coast outfit have now lost their last three top-flight matches to leave them in 16th spot.

Their rivals Saints know all too well about the horror scoreline having lost by nine-goal margins twice in recent years.

Leicester inflicted a 9-0 defeat on Southampton at St Mary's in October 2019 as Jamie Vardy and Ayoze Perez fired in hat-tricks.
