Edouard Mendy ‘REJECTS new Chelsea contract after being offered less than £190k-a-week backup keeper Kepa’
EDOUARD MENDY has reportedly rejected a contract offer from Chelsea that was worth LESS than Kepa Arrizabalaga’s deal.
The 30-year-old stopper was proposed less lucrative terms than backup goalie Kepa’s £190,000-a-week earnings.
That’s despite Mendy being first choice between the sticks at Stamford Bridge, and Kepa resigned to bench duty.
And the Senegalese ace has turned down an initial offer from Chelsea, according to the .
Kepa was handed a deal worth nearly £200k-a-week when he was signed from Athletic Bilbao for £71million in 2018.
Mendy meanwhile has been one of the lowest earners at Stamford Bridge since his £22m move from Rennes in 2020.

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel insisted the situation between the sticks at Stamford Bridge isn’t one he is worrying about.
He said: “The situation is calm. We have two fantastic goalkeepers, two fantastic guys.
“We are aware of it that [Mendy] is in that kind of situation, but first, we deal inside and then we tell you.”
