Oleksandr Usyk brands Anthony Joshua a ‘fool’ for throwing his belts out of ring and compares it to toddler tantrum

OLEKSANDR USYK has branded Anthony Joshua a “FOOL” for hurling his belts out of the ring.

And the Ukrainian compared AJ’s behaviour to a TODDLER throwing a temper tantrum.

Joshua suffered a second straight defeat by heavyweight champion Usyk in Saudi Arabia last month.

But instead of congratulating his opponent, AJ instead made a bizarre speech while also chucking Usyk’s belts out of the ring.

The Ukrainian said: “[What did I think at the time?] I thought, ‘What a poor fool’.

“He reminded me of a little boy who wanted to play with a ball.

“But it was taken from him, so he decided to throw it over the neighbour’s fence.

“Eventually the ball is thrown back but it lands next to a fierce dog. So I don’t think it was a really smart decision in the end.

“He was freaked out and I don't believe anyone should blame him for that.

“He had trained for the fight and he believed in something but then he lost for the second time.

“I guess his physical condition was good but, thanks to God, mine was better and perhaps that is the most reasonable explanation for his outbreak of verbal diarrhoea.

“But I believe he is a good person.”

Joshua is now in talks to fight WBC champ Tyson Fury an all-British clash.

The Gypsy King still wants to fight Usyk in a bid to unify the division.

And the Ukrainian admits he is more than happy to oblige - before diving straight into retirement.

I thought, ‘What a poor fool’.

Usyk on Joshua meltdown

Also name-checking Canelo Alvarez as a future opponent, Usyk said: “I can have three more fights at the very most.

"It is the most realistic to be in my top form. With Fury, Canelo and a farewell fight at Olympiyskiy.

“With Canelo, he said he wanted to fight me. It would be a freak fight just for the sake of earning money. People say I’m a freak.”

On Fury vs Joshua, Usyk added: “Well, if they sign the fight contract, they will punch each other for a while.

“But the thing is that everyone is expecting Usyk vs Fury for the undisputed championship which for many years hasn’t occurred in the heavyweight division.

“I will support neither of them, I won’t even watch this fight. I don’t want to.

"OK, I’m just joking. I will go there to watch live how they will throw punches at each other.

“Honestly, I don’t think about them at all. Want to know what I’m really thinking about? I want to see my children, to hug and kiss them, that’s all I’m thinking about.

“Despite his toughness [Fury] and how he is generally described, he is afraid. Yes, of me.”
