Off the field woes continue at Coventry City, but Mark Venus seems to have finally got us firing on the pitch
Tony Mowbray's old assistant knows better than anyone how hard it is to manage at the Ricoh arena - but he's doing a better job than anyone to resurrect our season
Since Tony Mowbray departed, a lot has happened at Coventry City.
Away from the football, it has been announced that the club are planning to sell their Ryton training ground and a joint protest saw supporters hurl pigs onto the pitch at Charlton last weekend.
Mark Venus - formerly Mowbray's right-hand man and now interim manager - has had to oversee this and try and resurrect an abysmal start to the 2016/17 campaign. He has took charge of four fixtures thus far, and the signs have been positive.
During the opening ten SkyBet League One outings, Mowbray only led the Sky Blues to six points. Venus, on the other hand, has amassed the same number after just a trio of fixtures.
A Checkatrade Trophy win over Northampton Town was also registered and some confidence has been restored.
His first taste of management was a sweet one as we swept Port Vale away on our travels. Marvin Sordell and Chris McCann found the target to seal a deserved 2-0 victory.
A humbling defeat away to Charlton then followed before a dominant display resulted in another three points on Tuesday night - a 2-1 triumph over newly promoted Oxford United.

He knows the players and he has their respect, and that has certainly been evident so far in his short tenure.
If he finds his strongest eleven and we continue to flourish, he could steady the ship. Regardless of who is at the helm, they'll always have their hands tied to a certain extent, but he has done himself no harm whatsoever.
A win on Saturday at home to Rochdale could see us move out of the bottom four, and if that happens, the shackles should then be removed.
I still have no doubt that it will be a rollercoaster ride of a season, but I have seen enough encouragement to improve my confidence.
