Antony spun 720 degrees before passing the ball out of play during the Red Devils' win over Sheriff in the Europa League.

According to , Ronaldo, who started the match against West Ham, took inspiration from that on Sunday but lost control after just one pirouette.

And as the ball rolled away from him, the Real Madrid legend could be seen chuckling at his inability to perform the skill.

Antony, who joined United for a huge £85.5million in the summer, has made the trick his trademark.

But it has divided opinion among those in England.

Speaking after the skill and incomplete pass, BT Sport commentator Robbie Savage said: "He’s done that then puts the ball out of play. It’s quite embarrassing actually.

"Doing that with nobody near him and then he puts the ball out of play."

And Man Utd legend Paul Scholes added: "What is he thinking? He's not beating a man, he's not entertaining anybody, it's 0-0 and then he kicks the ball out.
