MANCHESTER UNITED have inquired about the availability of Bayern Munich striker Eric Choupo-Moting, according to reports.
The Red Devis are believed to be in the market for a striker with Cristiano Ronaldo possibly set to leave in January.
United were linked with a transfer move for Choupo-Moting last week following his impressive form in Bundesliga.
And now Sky Sports Germany reporter claims United have submitted an inquiry for the forward.
But the journalist adds that the former Stoke player will stay at Bayern and the German champions will open up contract talks with the striker after the World Cup.
German outlet report Choupo-Moting wants to pen one last lucrative contract while he remains at his peak.

Manchester City star Erling Haaland is the only striker in Europe's top five leagues with a better hit rate, averaging a goal every 53 minutes - so Choupo-Moting is ahead of Harry Kane, Neymar and former team-mate Robert Lewandowski.
Given Ronaldo's struggles in front of goal this campaign it is little surprise Erik ten Hag is looking for replacements.
Ronaldo has started in each of United's last four games but failed to find the net and he could move on in January amid internet from Napoli.
