DIEGO COSTA has a reputation for being a menace on the pitch - but really, he is just a big softie as he hugs his white dog in his luxury Surrey mansion.

The Spain striker, 28, has revived his form under Antonio Conte after a difficult second season last campaign - having scored three in his last five and 10 so far in all competitions.

And after his side blew away Manchester United 4-0 yesterday on Jose Mourinho's unhappy return to Stamford Bridge, Costa found time to relax in his pool.

Accompanying him was his beautiful golden Labrador who seemed content to give his master a big hug while a smiling Costa held him in his arms.

Chelsea were forced to rubbish claims Costa and Conte were involved in a heated changing room row after their recent win over Leicester.

Spanish daily Marca reportetd that the furious Blues striker told his boss that, if he does not like his style of play, then he should just "get rid of him".

The controversial striker had sensationally been seen gesturing to the bench to demand he should be subbed during the second half of the Stamford Bridge clash.

But looking at this picture from his mansion, Costa did not have a care in the world and looks happy in England - although his dog will not have a clue what his owner is like once he steps over the white line...
