LIVERPOOL star Fabio Carvalho has QUIT Portugal U21s after four games having previously represented England at three age groups.
Carvalho, 20, joined Liverpool on a free transfer in the summer, leaving newly promoted Fulham.
The versatile midfielder was born in Torres Vedras, Portugal, but has spent the last nine years in England.
He represented England at U16, U17 and U18 level before picking up his first Portugal U21 cap earlier this year.
Carvalho scored two in four games for Portugal's youth side, but he has now informed the FA he no longer intends to play at U21 level.
A statement from the Portuguese FA read: “Fabio Carvalho informed the Portuguese Football Federation, through some SMS messages, that he does not intend to continue representing Portugal at Under-21 level.

Carvalho qualifies to play for more than one country and is able to represent as many as he wants until they pick up a first senior cap in a competitive game.
The Reds ace has played 16 times across all competitions this season.
His only two goals have come in the Premier League against Bournemouth and Newcastle.
