Bettingexpert's supercomputer  ran 100,000 simulations and has rated England's chances of beating Iran at just above 70 per cent.

That would mean Gareth Southgate's bold 4-3-3 will have paid off.

Kieran Trippier, John Stones, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw are expected to protect Jordan Pickford, SunSport has reported.

Declan Rice is set to be the anchor in midfield, with Jude Bellingham and pal Mason Mount playing ahead of him.

Raheem Sterling will man the left flank, while Bukayo Saka starts to captain Harry Kane's right.

Wins over USA and Wales are also expected, with the probability of wins coming in at over 60 per cent.

BETSiE predicts Gareth Southgate's men will pick up six points or over, which is more than enough to top the group, and USA are tipped to take the final knockout spot.

Winning Group B would then see England face Senegal in the round of 16, according to the supercomputer.

The Three Lions then have over a 54 per cent chance of reaching the quarter-finals, compared to Senegal's 18 per cent.

A date with current World Cup holders France is then expected, but that's where the fun stops.

BETSiE predicts France, despite a number of injuries to key players such as Paul Pogba, N'Golo Kante and Karim Benzema, will BEAT England, sending Southgate's men packing.

The supercomputer rates England's chances of beating France at just over 29 per cent.

France's chances are in the mid-30 percentile.

So, who does the supercomputer think will make the LAST four and who is leaving the Middle East with the £227,000 trophy?

BETSiE says Germany, Argentina and Brazil will join France.

France are predicted to edge out their European neighbours while Brazil are tipped to see off Copa America champions Argentina.

December 18's dust-up then has Brazil with the better chances of winning the tournament, beating France.

That would see Paris Saint-Germain and Brazil superstar Neymar win his first World Cup, and his country's fifth.

A World Cup win could also put Neymar in good contention to win his first Ballon d'Or.
