SWITZERLAND goalkeepers are using bizarre slow-mo SUNGLASSES in training to try and gain an edge in Qatar.

Yann Sommer and Co are eyeing up marginal gains as they look to cause a stir at the World Cup.

The Swiss keepers wore special sunglasses at Euro 2020 in order to help improve performance.

And after their brilliant run to the quarter-finals, during which they knocked off world champions France, they are looking to go even better this time out in Qatar.

First choice Yann Sommer and understudy Gregory Kobel have been snapped in training wearing the smart goggles.

The battery-powered specs create a slow-mo effect and help the shot stoppers improve their anticipation.

Switzerland kick-off their campaign with a match against Cameroon on Thursday morning.

Following the defeat, boss Murat Yakin said: “We had to take a lot into account: process, heat, load control.

“When we make three changes at half-time and twice again in the 60th, it’s obvious that the result isn’t the priority.

“The constellation that one or the other player has not played much, we have to take everything into account.

“We still have time to prepare. It was extremely warm. It is clear that the players have not yet acclimatised.

“We played very well for 60 minutes. Then it is clear that the tiredness has come.

“Such a defeat does not throw us off track. We know what we can do.”
