Cristiano Ronaldo returns to being unemployed after Portugal World Cup KO following Man Utd axe
CRISTIANO RONALDO is back to being unemployed following Portugal's World Cup defeat to Morocco.
The superstar suffered a heartbreaking exit from the World Cup and broke down in tears as he walked down the tunnel.
Manchester United and Ronaldo, 37, parted ways mid-season following the player's explosive sit-down interview with SunSport columnist and TalkTV main man Piers Morgan.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner accused Man Utd of betrayal, and slammed the lack of investment in the club's infrastructure.
Present United figures such as boss Erik ten Hag were in the firing line, with Ronaldo admitting he does not respect the Dutchman.
And former team-mates Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney were also slammed for their criticism.
Ronaldo got his wish of an exit from Old Trafford, albeit a few months late, after slamming the club.
Ronaldo now needs to decide his future after being sent home from Qatar following Portugal's 1-0 quarter-final defeat to Morocco.
And he could be denied a chance to join Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Nassr, who are now targeting a move for Roberto Firmino.
Al-Nassr reportedly wanted to sign Ronaldo and were willing to offer the striker a staggering deal worth £173m a year.

A distraught Ronaldo revealed his pain at being knocked out of the World Cup, saying: "Winning a World Cup for Portugal was the biggest and most ambitious dream of my career.
"Fortunately, I won many titles of international dimension, including for Portugal, but putting the name of our country on the highest level in the world was my biggest dream.
"I fought for it. I fought hard for this dream. In the 5 appearances that I scored in World Cups over 16 years, always alongside great players and supported by millions of Portuguese people, I gave my all.
"I left everything on the field. I never turned my face to the fight and I never gave up on that dream.
"Unfortunately, yesterday the dream ended. It is not worth reacting to heat."
