England vs France World Cup referee’s Wikipedia page changed as fans rage over Saka treatment and Kane penalty decision
WILTON SAMPAIO's Wikipedia page has been changed by pranksters following his first half performance in England's game against France.
The Brazilian referee was heavily involved as the holders had several decisions go in their favour.
But their lead came in controversial circumstances.
That's because moments before the Real Madrid midfielder beat Jordan Pickford from distance, Bukayo Saka appeared to have been fouled up the other end.
Despite a lengthy VAR wait, the goal was given.
But there was more controversy later into the half as England were denied a penalty.

Dayot Upamecano looked to have committed a clear foul on Harry Kane.
VAR was once again needed, but the decision went against Gareth Southgate's side.
England players were visibly frustrated at half-time, with several players running to Sampaio once he blew up.

But it wasn't just the players that were angry as supporters vented on social media.

And almost immediately, the Brazilian's Wikipedia was changed.
A cheeky fan wrote: "Wilton Pereira Sampaio is a French fan and a Brazilian football referee.
"He is currently under investigation for falsely not awarding a penalty to England after Harry Kane was assaulted."
