Eddie Howe's side have joined the race for Mudryk, though the winger has been publicly discussing the possibility of joining Arsenal ahead of the January window.

Shakhtar concede there is a 50 per cent chance their star man could leave next month but have said they want a similar fee to the £100million Manchester City paid to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.

Though there is a hope from English clubs that they will accept a much lower figure.

Shakhtar CEO, Sergei Palkin, has been in London recently and has revealed he has held talks with a number of Prem sides.

"I don’t want to talk about figures now. We are in discussions. We have interest from some English clubs and we are in the process.

“Every day, I read about another English club.

"If you believe the newspapers, it is all of [the English clubs]. But to be honest, it is true as I have had contact from many clubs. A lot of them are involved in this process.”

Arsenal will assess their forward options ahead of the window in the coming days following the injury to striker Gabriel Jesus.

Boss Mikel Arteta says the Gunners are prepared to explore more spending in January after the Brazilian underwent knee surgery.

The Premier League leaders are back in London after a warm-weather training camp in Dubai, where Mudryk has also been pictured on holiday in recent days.
