Man Utd fans love Lisandro Martinez’s response to Scott McTominay text just days after winning World Cup
MANCHESTER UNITED fans are thrilled by Lisandro Martinez's response to Scott McTominay texting congratulations on his World Cup glory.
Even as Argentina still partied after their shootout triumph over France, Martinez was switching focus to United's bid for silverware.
Red Devils' supporters on social media reckon it's the type of "winning mentality" missing at Old Trafford after legendary boss Alex Ferguson departed in 2013.
One fan even claimed the last player to show such an attitude was... Cristiano Ronaldo at his peak!
United have not lifted silverware since 2016-17 when they won the EFL Cup and Europa League.
But centre-back Martinez has a taste for eating at the top table after becoming just the fifth Red Devils' player ever to win the World Cup.

Understandably, he missed Wednesday's 2-0 Carabao Cup victory over Burnley following extraordinary rejoicing across Argentina.
And midfielder McTominay, who did play in that win, revealed: “I messaged Lisandro the other day and said congratulations.
“He said ‘we go for the next one’. He’s just won a World Cup, so that shows the mentality that is in the group."
One fan said of United's Qatar king: "Only Ronaldo and Martinez had this mentality in man Utd b4.

"Now it’s just Martinez I pray he influences the rest."
Others noted McTominay's reaction.
One posted: "He was definitely shocked to see someone addicted to winning."
Another wrote: "Imagine sitting around with Messi and Co having just won the World Cup and you’ve got Scott McTominay popping up on your phone to remind you of reality."
McTominay, though, insists the whole United squad - under Erik ten Hag - are finally geared up to picking up trophies.
He said: "Success will always be winning trophies and that’s the most important thing at this football club.
"With the manager that we’ve got now, we’ve got a really good opportunity to start that journey, especially this year.
“The improvement we’ve seen in a lot of us has been good."
