Therefore the game was pushed back to today, but it still had to be delayed by 15 minutes as the pitch was visibly waterlogged.

Ronaldo, 37, signed for Al-Nassr in a shock deal worth £173million-a-year after leaving Manchester United.

He left the club after his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

The Portuguese attacker had to watch on from the stands in the comfort of a leather chair as his new team claimed a 2-0 win thanks to a brace from Talisca.

Ronaldo was due to make his debut for the club in the match, but for multiple reasons, it has not been possible.

The Saudi club have not been able to register the five-time Ballon d'Or winner as they are at the limit of their foreign player quota.

Al Nassr now have to axe one of their foreign players in order to make room for Ronaldo in the squad.

There are also still question marks over the two-game ban handed to him by the FA for smashing an Everton fan’s phone last season.

FIFA have ordered Ronaldo to serve his ban, despite claims that Al-Nassr are were ready to ignore it so he could play in the January 14 battle against fellow title chasers Al-Shabab.

As he will now miss Al-Nassr’s next two games, it means he is likely to make his debut against Ettifaq on January 21.
