Williams F1 team to announce teenage Lance Stroll as new drive with Felipe Massa retiring at the end of the season
Stroll, 18, dominated Formula 3 this season
WILLIAMS are expected to confirm their driver line-up for 2017 today by announcing that Lance Stroll will partner Valtteri Bottas.
SunSport revealed last month how talks between Stroll and Williams were nearing completion as he replaces Felipe Massa, who is retiring.
However, the delay was caused as Williams wanted for Stroll to turn 18 before being announced due to the team's partnership with alcoholic drink, Martini.
The Canadian, whose father, Lawerence, is a business tycoon worth £2billion, has just won the Euro F3 title and was originally part of the Ferrari academy.
Brazilian Massa, has 11 wins in 248 races to date and 41 podium finishes.
The 35-year-old enjoyed his best seasons between 2006 and 2008, when he finished third, fourth and second.
He has not finished in the top five since.
Stroll, the teenage Canadian, dominated Formula 3 in the Prema car.
He finished with 14 wins out of 30, tallying 100 points more than his main rival Maximilian Gunther.
Bottas is currently joint-seventh in Formula one, more than 90 points away from sixth placed Max Verstappen.
