Man Utd transfer blow as goalkeeper Yann Sommer agrees Bayern Munich deal, leaving De Gea set for new contract
MANCHESTER UNITED'S hopes of signing Yann Sommer appear all-but over with the goalkeeper set to sign for Bayern Munich.
The Red Devils want to sign a goalkeeper with David de Gea's Old Trafford future in doubt.
They've already brought in Jack Butland this window, but he's only arrived on loan to provide cover for De Gea.
And they're still looking for a potential replacement for the Spaniard.
Ahead of January, United were targeting a move for Sommer, who's entered the final year of his Borussia Monchengladbach contract, while they're also being linked with Brentford man David Raya.
Sommer would have been able to sign a pre-contract at Old Trafford this month.
