Following good wins over Stefani Koykov and Lyndon Arthur, Yarde is back in the limelight for another shot at unified world title glory.
It's his first go at this level in just over three years, since a late knockout defeat to Sergey Kovalev in 2019.
His task looks exceptionally difficult on paper, with the Russian-Canadian fighter currently 18-0.
More impressive perhaps than that, he's won every fight by knockout.
At 38 years of age, Beterbiev could be underestimated slightly but the current unified champ looks a different class at present.
Yarde will almost certainly need to be at his best - and probably more - to come away with the WBC, WBA and IBF light-heavyweight belts.
