A North Korean goalkeeper has been fined and banned for a year for conceding a goal and deliberately losing a game so his side could face easier opposition in the next round of the AFC under 16 Championship.
The goal was scored by the opposition goalkeeper as Uzbekistan beat North Korea 3-1 as allowed the ball to bounce over him and hit the back of the net.
The Asian Football Confederation have also found manager Yung Jong-su guilty of throwing the game and has been subsequently banned and fined along with his goalkeeper.
Jong-su was fined £4,000 whilst the 16 year old keeper had to swallow a bill of £800 whilst North Korea's FA were hit with a £16,000 fine .
It was obvious that the goal was allowed to go in as Paek-ho still had the chance to save the ball from going in after he seemingly ducked for the ball to go over him.
He then fell to the floor in a fake slip making out he took a tumble in a desperate attempt to stop the goal from happening but the comedy move to pull the wall over the AFC's eyes did not come off.
Due to the defeat North Korea played Oman in the quarter finals whom they beat before losing on penalties to Iran in the semi-finals.
The four teams to reach the semis qualified for the under 17 World Cup which be held in India in October next year.
North Korea have been allowed to compete at the tournament but will not be allowed to be coached by Jong-su or play Paek-ho.
North Korea have been warned if they ever engage in similar behaviour again they will not be allowed to take part in 2018 AFC under 19 Championship.
