Joey Barton on verge of striking pay-off with Rangers… while reportedly being signed off with stress
RANGERS are on the verge of striking a pay-off deal with Joey Barton.
SunSport can exclusively reveal negotiations have taken place in the last 48 hours with Barton‘s Ibrox career almost officially OVER… while it is also thought he has been signed off with STRESS.

The 34-year-old signed a two -year deal worth £18,000-a-week when he joined the club in July.
But it’s understood Gers chiefs are close to reaching a compromise agreement they’re happy with to rip up his contract, despite his apparent absence due to stress, with the Scouser not being seen at the training ground since Thursday last week.
Barton was forced to train with the Gers kids at Murray Park last week following his bitter bust-up with manager Mark Warburton.
But it’s understood the midfielder has now returned south – with Gers chiefs telling him they don’t want him to return.
And the Ibrox club are on the verge of revealing the saga involving the former England star has ended.
Barton was hugely outspoken behind the scenes after arriving as their big name signing in the summer.
He then clashed with Warburton in a closed doors barney at the club’s training ground.
That saw him hit with a club suspension and told to stay away.
Barton initially hoped to smooth things over with his manager and held private talks to apologise.
But it then emerged the SFA were investigating claims he’d bet on matches since coming to Scottish football.
That saw Rangers extend Barton’s suspension before reluctantly allowing him back last week.
It quickly became clear that the experienced player had no future at the club.
That saw negotiations over a compromise agreement move on with talks with his advisers intensifying over the weekend.
And Gers are now hopeful the paperwork can be completed which will see Barton officially offloaded.
