Casemiro headed home the opener and the second went down as a Sven Botman own goal before the cameras found the television presenters in the stands.

I'm A Celebrity hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly were then mocked by Neville and Jamie Carragher, who were both on commentator duty.

The pair appeared on screen late in the game, with the scoreline reading 2-0 to Man Utd.

Neville said: "I'm a celebrity," and then Carragher responded with: "Get me out of here".

Another tweeted them at full-time: ";How was the cup final?"

A third reacted: "Inject Ant & Dec's tears into me."

Man Utd fans revelling in the moment also had a laugh at Newcastle legend Alan Shearer, who looked just as glum as his former club's wait for a major trophy goes on after 54 years.

Toon supporters' weekend has not ended the way they hoped but they have enjoyed partying in London while in the capital.

Thousands flocked to Trafalgar Square the day prior to the game and closer to home they tied up a huge flag to The Angel of the North in Gateshead.

In the stadium, Newcastle fans stayed to the end applauding their team off the pitch and waving black and white flags until the final whistle.
