The fierce rivals met in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals, with the Catalan giants winning 1-0.

Carvajal challenged Alejandro Balde for a header just in front of the dugout where Xavi was getting more and more animated.
The defender shouted at him sarcastically: "You're very smart."
Xavi responded: "An idiot, you’re an idiot."

It led to Xavi receiving a yellow card as the fourth official spotted the altercation, but the player escaped unpunished.
After the final whistle, the pair appeared to put their differences to one side as the duo shook hands and exchanged some more friendly-looking words.
Xavi's battles against Carvajal go back many years from when the manager used to play for Barcelona.
